    Determine the target

These two goals are interrelated in achieving your work plan. Of course, they are also different. The purpose tends to be universal and the goal tends to be specific.

The purpose should focus on the overall prospects of the project. List the final results required for your work plan. Keep it broad, for example, set the goal to complete a research paper or learn more about writing.

The goal should be specific and actionable. In other words, these goals can be quantified. For example, finding interviewers for your research paper is a good goal.

Many elaborate work plans decompose goals into "short-term", "medium-term", and "long-term". For example, a company’s short-term goal is to increase its ratings by 30% in the next March, which is very different from its long-term goal of enhancing brand awareness through social media in the next year.

Goals are usually written in an active tense and use specific behavioral verbs (such as "plan", "write", "increase", and "measure") rather than vague words (such as "investigation", " "Understanding", "Understanding", etc.).
